To achieve nutritional well-being of residents in Gombak district, Nutrition Unit will:
• Develop and implement effective programs to individuals, groups and communities.
• Improving inter-agency cooperation in the implementation of nutrition activities.
• Encourage active community participation

OBJECTIVES

The objective of the Nutrition Unit is to:
• Assess and monitor the nutritional status of the community.
• Promoting healthy eating in the community.
• Prevention and control of nutritional problems associated with excessive consumption of scarcity and malnutrition.

NUTRITION SURVEILLANCE

Provides an effective nutrition surveillance systems and robust in monitoring the nutritional status of the population to help develop and re-evaluation of nutrition programs.
Among the activities:

• Checking the quality of food reten collected at the clinic

Reten nutrition monitored through Nutrition Surveillance System under the Health Management Information System (HMIS E- Reporting):
• Nutritional Status of Children Under Five Years.
• Achievement of the Children Rehabilitation Programme for Malnourished
• Distribution of Full Cream Milk Powder

Reten nutrition in Family Health Development Division monitored under the Health Management Information System:
• Nutritional Status of School Children
• Nutritional Status of Youth
• Hemoglobin levels among women attending antenatal clinic at 36 weeks of pregnancy health.

Reten nutrition not monitored under the Health Management Information System.
• Breastfeeding Practices 4 month old baby.
• Practice Breastfeeding Babies Aged 6 Months.
• Introduction of Complementary Feeding Practices for Infants Aged 8 to <10 months.
