DISEASE INFECTIOUS CONTROL UNIT (CDC)

This unit helps in the prevention and control of infectious disease events that are not a problem for public health.

Some examples of infectious disease are:
Measles (measles)
Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
Diftheria
Chicken pox (chickenpox)
Leptospirosis (rat urine)
TB
Hand Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD)
Food poisoning
Typhoid (Typhoid)
HIV
Syphilis
Leprosy


Members serving in this unit would investigate the case received any notification. This is to determine the source of infection and to implement prevention and control measures to ensure no spread of the disease. Prevention and control measures are as closure of premises, disinfection activities, food sampling, the search context and Active Case Detection.

In addition, this unit also carries out monitoring (surveillance) all infectious diseases, analyze information and engage in education and health promotion activities.
